Kombucha – my first batch

original article was posted on my blog 4-28-15

If you been following my blog posts then you know I made my own SCOBY from raw organic kombucha (see that post here: makingSCOBY) it took 23 days and then I started a batch of Kombucha on April 16.  Here are the other two posts about the progress of the making of the SCOBY – here the links are:  SCOBY is born and SCOBY is ready

Below you will see some pictures of the progress so far of my first batch of Kombucha.

The beautiful thick SCOBY on top of the tea on Day 12  is the new SCOBY and you may be able to see the original mother SCOBY down farther in the jar. You can see the progress of the formation of the new SCOBY from day 1 through day 12 (so far)

Day 8

On day 12 the new SCOBY is getting so wonderfully thick and beautiful! The mother SCOBY seems to have split and part is at bottom and another part is floating close to the top on left hand side. The tea is starting to lighten up!
